Is there some sort of auto-rotate in the GP9?

I did my first ride with the GP9 yesterday. It recorded into 15 files, most of them are about 3.9 GB
Most of them are rotated. Of the 15, 13 were rotated. Eight were rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
Five were rotated counter-clockwise. One started out level, and rotated 25 seconds into the file.

What is causing this?
Is there a way to lock the rotation so "down" is where the two mounting ears stick out of the camera?

Found it. And yes, it can be locked.
I have no idea why it was so random.

If you have it set to auto rotate, it will keep the image rotation locked to the orientation the camera was in when you hit the record button. It doesn't auto-rotate while recording.

B/c you were angled, and hit the record button the Gyro locked in as the record was hit.

Its mounted to my helmet. So its nearly always at some bizarre angle when I reach for the record button.

Which is why there was such varied amounts of rotation, depending on where I put the helmet down when I took my breaks.

seems like you were not angled to Landscape and the gyro said rotate

I think @Fish is right. I'll find out next time I go riding.
