"Standby" battery life and maximum standby times?

I'd like to have a HERO5 continually on and listening for voice commands, how do I achieve this? I don't want to have wifi on unless their is some power advantage to doing so. My goal would be to have the camera in a mode where it could start/stop recording by using voice only over a long period of time (say 6-7 hours, with maybe only 30 minutes of recording time though).

you will use a external power source. if not then gopro will not last that long at all.

So even though it can record for 2 hours on battery it can't do standby for significantly longer than that? I hoped it would have to be able to standby for 2-3 times as long as it could record...

gopro needs to be On to use voice commands. no way it can be on standby and say gopro... that is what you want, it uses power if it is on and when you record it will use more power etc...

if you got the camera. you test it out. turn on with voice and see how long on Never will it deplete? then the factors all play if I record at the start, 1/3rd in 1/4 in etc at 30 minute will the bat deplete faster etc...

So itis a guessinggame and the guess is taken care of at the post 2 powerbank (Smiles)

I currently only own a Session 5, but it does not have the option to never auto-off like the HERO5 does. It will turn off in 10 mins (roughly) regardless. Before I bought a HERO5 I was hoping somebody else might have had experience with this, but I guess not.
