How to combine video files for GPS Telemetry

Hi everyone,

I have a crucial question. Lets say I record 1 hour video to make GPS Telemetry with hero 5. Gopro divides video files 4GB, approximately 17 min. For one hour recording I obtain 4 video file in gopro folder in my SD card.

After this I create GPS telemetry with quik app however quik makes 4 different videos. Quik could not merge videos. GPS path and distance counter resets in each 17min video. I mean after each 17min, distance counter becomes zero again.

is there anyway to combine those video files in order to make one GPS telemetry video from beginning to end?

thanks

Gopro hero 5 black makes 12 minute clips that will be five chapters about

go to Quik and use the scissor and save each file. then go to gopro studion and add all the five in and name it your video and you got your 1 full movie as a whole.

Thanks for the answer, but it only make all videos together!

I want to combine videos to make GPS Telemetry as a one file! In addittion, if protune is on you obtain 12min videosi othwerwise you have 17 min videos (1080p, 30fps)

gonna correct what I said:

I went out thought the camera did 12 minute chapters, they do 9 minute chapters. So I must be careful no to go over 9 minutes with my vlogging as I do not want to patch together?

So go to your Quik. In a folder. 1 video at a time you enable guages, then to scissor and verify the start and stop is 100% all there. repeat to all clips. and done. that will be how I will do it.

protune or not it for me are 9 minute clips hero 5 black.

when you do this, all GPS information is also combined right? Combining video is easy, problem is to combine GPS information. Like GPS path from beginning to end, distance counter..

Nothing hard about this. all original clips yes will have data, when you extract it to the final video as an overlay. add all five and done. The final 1 hour clip won't have date but the overlay, and that is what you you're asking the original data will not be on but an overlay in its place.

you got the camera, you got the software, you make two five second clip, and you combine it. And that's it bench test then go out shoot an hours time and find out you did something wrong.

not punning I do trial and error to learn.

FISH no bother keep asking, do not mind :)

Like I wrote in another post, my GPS infomation of altitude and - especially - elevation gain is way off. In 2.2 miles I had 760 ft elevation gain. In reality this is only about one tenth of that. And while going uphill, the altitude became lower, even negative, instead of higher. This makes this feature unuseable. Alas, it is not possible to delete the altitude and elevation gain information without also deleting the distance information.

DashWare (owned by Gopro) will allow you to merge several files and to extract the GPS info as 1. I have had some issues when combining multiple files and losing sync though.

You can skip the Quik app and use other programs that can handle Video and GPS data (and additional data).

For instance racerender notes in their documentation...(but you'll have to learn another program):
