camera is set for what Aspect ration

I had it set for super wide 2K. I checked in Final Cut Pro and it is showing 2K as well. I checked the camera view while set it 2K and it is narrower than 1080p. 1080p seems to fill the ratio properly but not 2K.

I did some different settings using 1080p and 1440. Went through narrow, linear and superwide. All 1440 were 4:3 and all 1080 were 16:9. I am a little disappointed that using a single camera limits the aspect ratio. I realize the camera is designed for 360 and that is probably GoPro's main interest and the single camera use was just an afterthought. Probably need to get a different model to be able to use the wide/superwide in UHD.

I do not own one, so I had to look for a vid shocked to find nothing even mentioned, not sure why gopro did that, I apologise but iwant to shoot 16:9 as well, asked a friend to look in to his camera to make a video see what he comes up with

Thanks for checking this out. I watched a couple different videos on hero mode with the Max, which is what I am dealing with. Nothing mentioned on any of them about aspect ratio in hero mode.
Let me know what your friend finds. I am going to call GoPro tech support.

He just said it can do it, you may need to open the actual App up, can be located there, do not think he was willing to make that video and I totally hear ya . if I had the camera I be helping you out on the spot,

GoPro support confirmed that it can't be done on the Max. Off to Best Buy to get a Hero 11. Thanks for sticking with me.

If you want a 360 camera get eh Insta 360 One X3 by far the best if asked , or even get the Insta 360 One RS twin pack that comes both the camera and 360 gopros are good but there are better... just saying

I already have the 360 Max. Just need a camera that will do 2k or 4k in 16:9. The Hero 11 will do that. Just picked one up from Best Buy. Thanks anyway.
