Go Pro 8 Black won't turn off and SD Card is always busy

I’m having major issues with my GoPro Hero 8 Black. The camera won’t turn off—the “Powering Off” screen just stays on until the battery dies. On top of that, when I try to record, I get an “SD Card Busy” error, and it won’t start recording.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there an easy (and hopefully free) fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried a different SD Card - could be a card issue whereby it's stopping the camera from powering down because the camera thinks its still reading/writing to the card constantly.....

If the above doesn't work try a factory reset.

two ways of a factory reset

the other is txt.doc rename only Factory_reset, after resets, take off and delete the doc or else it repeats

The "SD Card Busy" error means the card is too slow, corrupt, or incompatible. Try a compatible UHS-I U3 or V30 cards. Else you also format the SD Card in the Camera to fix the SD card related issues.
Since your GoPro is stuck on the “Powering Off” screen, try a hard reset: Press and hold the Mode button (Power) for 10 seconds until the camera turns off. > Remove the battery and wait 30 seconds before reinserting.
