Gopro 12 or MAX for diving and skiing ?

Yes, as the title says...can anyone recommend one model over the other? I need an underwater housing for diving (min. 30 metres), a mount for a diving mask, redfilter, and a mount for a ski helmet.

I actually doubt whether you can get all that equipment for the Max, but it seems like it has some cool features,

THANKS

Skip the Max - choose Insta360 X3 for 360 video. It's MUCH better in every way - hardware AND software.

Which style of camera is down to you. The 360 requires more post production and editing work. Also you get more of the fisheye type view due to the lenses but then you can choose the view and change camera angles so easily to make sure you never miss the ****.

The standard style camera carries less post production, provides a more 'natural' style shot with less distortion, and has a ton of extra modes and options to choose from, but at the same time its a fixed angle.....

Thanks for the answer.
Filming 360 is completely new to me. But it looks cool.
But it's for my son and he won't be holding the camera. It must be attached to the helmet when he is skiing, and to the diving mask when he is diving.
Can you get a mount for a helmet and diving mask for the Insta?
The question is whether a standard gopro is the right choice for him ?
Thanks :)

I am now convinced. Thanks for the good advice. It will be a 360 X3. :):) Cant wait

Question: Watercase for diving. The ones I can buy in Denmark have a black ring on top. And it doesn't say "invisible" on the underwater house. I can see that you can buy an invisible underwater house abroad. Is there a difference ?
THANKS

Depends - If the black ring is in between both lenses you will be fine as it won't show in the stitch line. Anything on the sides of the camera in between both lenses won't be seen in the final video.

Office Insta360 one has no black lens ring, but notice how it has black clips on the sides - these sit between the two lenses so won't show up in the final video output.

I’ve used both, and while the MAX is fun for editing later, I found it bulky for skiing and not great underwater. The GoPro 12 did better for me with stabilization and battery in the cold. If you’re curious about other 360 options or just want to compare some cool features before deciding, I spent a lot of time looking around insta360.com for ideas on my next upgrade.
