I'll admit upfront that I'm a novice when it comes to aspect ratio expertise. So with that intro....I've been trying to see if I could find a setting that would permit me to ride my motorcycle with a GoPro mounted on the chin mount and show preferably both mirrors completely and maybe my arms.

When I do a preview (or an actual video) with 4:3 pictures, I see exactly what I want. As soon as I change that to 4:3 Video instead, it zooms in and becomes more narrow. Why is that?

The dimensions are the same on each one I see but when I watch the videos vs if I use photographs it is different. Is there a way to make these look the same? Thank you.

turn off Hypersmooth and you may notice the actual difference photo does not do any EIS at all, be one reason

Cool! We have the winning answer with the 1st post. I just tested it and you nailed it. Thank you very much for this! I'm going to play around with this and see what the results are. I had Hypersmooth on Boost. Thanks again.

Only thing I could think of, we need to at least have Hypersmooth on, to get that footage, now since gopro no longer does dual recording, if you choose say superview and its good for you and want photos. do not forget in post you can always grab a shot

always welcomed enjoy

I think if I try 4:3 mode, the widest view is Wide. I'm not sure SV was available. But now that I know about the hypersmooth, I may be able to go back to non-4:3 with hyper smooth off and check the Superview. I'll be doing some tests tomorrow in the light of day. Thanks again.
