I am a newbie to the Forums and have a Hero 4 Black. I use this mostly to capture my travels. Shortly after buying my camera, I quickly realized the value of various mounts and have since spent more on accessories (clamps, gimbals, backup power, various tripods, etc.) than the initial cost of the camera. In fact, I've made my own magnetic mounts which are quite handy. My lovely lady bought me a Karma last year, and I absolutely love it. Admittedly, I need to spend more time flying. More recently, she bought me the Hero 5 and I've just begun to learn how to use this. I am a lucky man.

For post production, iMovie is my current tool, although I want to learn to use Final Cut Pro. If anyone knows of a good tutorial or decent teaching website for FCP, please PM me. I also use Audacity to edit audio, and Acorn for creating of titles, text, images, etc.

Please visit my youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/user/swoolfrey1. There you will find my videos and a peek at some of the places I've been to. I welcome your feedback. If you like what you see, subscribe to my channel and be sure to be notified of any future projects. Thanks

Yeah man I checked out your channel and subscribed- I like your relaxing storytelling.
I am working with Magix Pro so I don't have tipps for you but I am sure for FCP there is a lot stuff out there maybe you should start with a book- that's how I did.

Thanks Rob. It's all about the storytelling, right?

Yeah Steve story is very important and not easy to create especially in holiday vids.
You did the right start wit the first scene leaving the dogs at home- very nice idea.
Every vid needs a beginning, main part and an clear end and in holiday vids you have to take the audience with you on the way that after watching your vid there is a little bit of feeling "yeah I was there".
I have seen a lot of vids on an extremely high level with breathtaking shots but after maybe 2 min I thought there is no story, no flow, no humor just better/better and ore better shots and edit tricks- the vid has no soul it's just blendy.

Just got a GoPro Hero 6 Black, but I am not sure this is going to be the best video camera for me. I love how small it is and that it is waterproof, and I've seen some amazing videos taken with GoPro. I've had a digital video camera in the past that recorded to DV Tape, so that is what I've used in the past. I used the GoPro on a recent trip, and some of the video is fine, but other of it, I'm not so happy with. So, I'm still in the stage of deciding if this is for me.

Hello from Texas!! I have a Session 5 Hero and just recently bought the Hero 6. I use both of them primarily for filming my RC Plane flights and have used my Session in the cockpit and then synced both up and did a PIP video.

Looking for ways to improve my videos and editing of videos from both of my GoPro's.

Thanks!

Kenneth
