hello,

I don't have much experience with action cams. I wonder which other manufacturers I should look for when searching for video cams with good build quality? Not necessarily cheaper but definitely not more expensive than high end GoPros.

I am looking for non-GoPro cams mid to high end with good reliability and longevity and customer support.

There are lots of other products to be found on the internet but these are all manufacturers I never heard of. I want to buy a cam that lasts many years.

I do need live video stream on HDMI output, still indecisive about the rest...

thank you

the best and cheapest alternative would be Xiaomi Mijia 4k , it doesnt have so wide lens as gopro but picture quality is excellent. You Can get new one from around 80euros / 100 dollars , depends on where you look.

That said, you shouldnt be discouraged by Gopro cameras based on one bad experience with USED camera, people sell faulty stuff all the time. I have sold my Hero 5 for 180euro, in perfect condition , never has it froze or did something funny. Or if you want better stabilization but Hero 7black is too much for you then you could get Hero 6, which is still fairly cheap .

As Barney in HIMYM once said: "new is always better" ;)

That aplies to everything, newer car will be more reliable than older car, newer cam has fewer chances of being broken than older one.

Hero7 had many bugs upon its release but as far as i noticed , they have all been fixed because mine is perfect.

hello guys, thank you for your help :)

Finally I decided to buy a GoPro, mostly because I "know" the brand. Brand new fresh out of the store, what could possibly go wrong...? ;)

One of the other companies I use more or less Sold off a camera so another company was made and shows you how careful you have to be when shopping.

Didn't even look twice at those. HDMI out was THE one most important feature I was looking for. I bought a 7 black.

You mean the companies merged?

The internet is full of "best buy 2019" articles trying to find the best action cam on the market, but they only focus on features. Also, there are many problems due to incorrect handling and yadda, yadda, yadda.

So I figured if you are a newcomer GoPro has a product line for many generations now and has a big community.

That's not to say a new company has more problems or less experience, but it gives you a sense of trust.

good choice, dont forget to update the firmware as the latest one is the best so far, and do it manually by putting it on memory card to avoid any glitches.

H7 Black is a masterpiece, even with some occasional bugs. Enjoy
