I bought a used Hero a few years ago, and it worked perfectly. It has been sitting idle for two years. Now It won't start. I have charged the batteries in a wall plug-in charger with no result. I am now charging a battery in the camera with a USB wire from my desk top computer. The camera has been stored in is weather-proof case, and is clean. The battery connections are free of corrosion.

This is the original (I think) Hero, silver-ish, square boxy with a button on the front., and one on the top.

ANY IDEAS, ANYONE?

The Go Pro site has no interest in helping me - they just want to sell me a new camera.

THANKS!!!

I understand you, but it is really not worth obsessing about old gopro cam, you can get another for dirt cheap. Even hero 3 goes for about 50 euros here where i live. I doubt its much different around u

If it doesnt start even while plugged in, or with different batteries, its dead.
