This is all new to me but I spent the entire night trying to get Quik to launch on my Win 10 desktop. No joy. I've tried many of the recommended solutions but have given up. Is there an app that is free and will work on Win 10? I'm hoping to find one that is fairly intuitive but I don't need all the bells and whistles.

IMO the best free video editor to replace Quik desktop with is Davinci Resolve 17. Has a little bit of a learning curve but you can do a lot more with it. They have a paid for professional version too but more than likely you will not need those extra features.

Casey Faris has a Youtube channel that goes through how to use the application. Really good Youtube channel that walks you through the basics to really advanced features.

TunesKit AceMovi can work on Win10 and Mac, it's easy to use, and it has a friendly interface which the beginner can start to use quickly, you can also check more tutorials on YouTube, they will help you how to edit cool video by yourself. It's worth trying.
