motion detection needed

Not natively with a GoPro, you would need to load on ‘special’ firmware called GoProLabs, which is experimental firmware so not guaranteed to work. IMO, the GoPro is not the ideal camera for your requirements, You need a dedicated motion capture camera, which will most likely be cheaper then a GoPro in the first instance!

is it really a good idea to stick an expensive camera in a car in a clear view when you know like for sure that someone is going to vandalize your car ?
Dont know what kind of vandalism are we talking about here but thats asking for a broken windows, too

and that said, get a mobius camera its so small and does Motion section by setting the Txt file up with the same near quality good luck

Perhaps not a good idea but what's the alternative?
If I knew of an alternative I would try it. I'm only after an internal camera, not necessarily a GoPro.
There damaging the paintwork, not smashing windows.

Many vehicle dash cams will not only record continuously while driving, but also have a parking mode where they will start recording if they sense motion around the vehicle......

My dashcam has got motion sensor which is always on.....
