Yet another "I assumed, but I guess was wrong" discovery with the Media Mod. One of the very reasons of buying a Media Mod was to be able to enjoy the 4K footage directly from my OLED TV. I'm not a professional video maker, I don't even use a video editing software at all, and in most cases I want to just playback the recorded material for the entire family to watch casually. So when you see that GoPro makes an acceossory for its 4K+ cam to enable HDMI output you assume it's going to support its own resolution don't you?

Well, turns out the Hero 11 and 10 can only output in the "astonishing" resolution of 1080p through Media Mod, giving your videos that lovely late 2000s look (n)

At the moment I have no other way of sharing 4K quality videos with family and friends unless I upload to Youtube privately it seems...

Ironically, a Hero 9 can output in 4K, I guess that one has a built-in HDMI output, way to go with the newer versions GoPro!

Yep I even tried usb on a smart tv does not connect but DJI does Lol, you can always pull the card to a usb reader and go that route so really no need for a module usb sd card or thumb drive loaded

Well on mine the HDMI connects fine, you can even use the TV as a big monitor to preview what you are shooting, but the quality is 1080p not matter what. And unfortunately this is confirmed by GoPro themselves here:

GoPro Support

I mean it's an original GoPro accessory, intending to provide the 4K HDMI functionality which was removed after GoPro 9, and fails to do this, by design!

It also removes the ability of the Volta to control the camera when connected via USB, and requires the messy Bluetooth connection to be set up, even when you have the Volta directly connected to the Media Mod's USB.

If the Media Mod isn't an utter failure I don't know what is...

If you want to show 4K use the supplied ports on the set and not the media mod. I get what you said the official Media mod wonder if from the Hero 8 this was a concern I never gotten the Model for that, just the Hero 10

Which supplied ports are you referring to? I'm not aware of any HDMI out on the Hero 11?

Still not sure which ports you mean. USB ports on the TV by transferring to a flash drive first?

I tried doing that, which is anyway a work-around and still does not allow for direct HDMI output as the Media Mod claims to offer BUT, my 4K60 videos are played at around half the speed from my TV when I tried!
