Hi,

I have just purchased a Hero Session GoPro, and want to use it to send a live feed to my iPad (I do live event production - want an easy way to see what's happening back of stage from the side!)

I've downloaded the Capture app on my iPad, but the streaming quality is awful! Is there a way to change this?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi,

Yes, it is a Hero 4 Session.

I have downloaded the app, paired the camera via WiFi and selected the live preview. When I did so, it said at the top 'this is a low resolution previous of your video'. The image is really grainy and does not show much detail.

Is there a way to change the video to a 'high quality' preview?

Many thanks,

Matt.

Still need more info?

I can say your lighting is well Lit, but your camera thinks it is not? Are you in a well lit room? WHy I ask questions before I start to say its because you are not set on....

The image looks fine when the recording is played back. It's just the live stream that looks poor - as though a low resolution stream is being sent to my iPad.

I simply turn on my Iphone 6, capture and Hero 4 Session, and set to [email protected], whatever the camera sees will display on the phone. the Resolution of my phone is no higher than hd quality, it will not broadcast any higher, if not lower, and this question has not been noted if live feed is actually a lower resolution. What you may not like is that this is an Action camera, and does not do great putting it in a low light situation, never said here, but the grain, try raising the ISO if to dark, will give grain, lower will make crisper but darker. Session Hero 4 does not offer much in protunes so this may not be the camera for what your purposes arefor. Light is needed on gopro toget better shots. Distance with wi-fi is restricted, and limited. But an avtual reviewed clip on a desktop can be a better shot indeed, we have the option to Download low and high res files. Getting a Hero 5 Session won't make it any better but has all the features of a Hero 4 black.
