IS gopro cloud limit player to 1080p ?

Hello everyone,

I recently buy a gopro 11 editor and very happy about the capture. No doubt. Now about the storage, I have a very huge google cloud space but realize very quickly that to make my video available there, there are many (too many) steps to do so from QUIK.

So i look into the GOpro cloud service (plus.gopro.com). The integration is fantastic, nothing to do, all sync automatically into the cloud, even chromecast it is available. Until then, all good.

But to my surprise, the player limit us to play at 1080p. Many owner of course buy new gopro for the 4k capabilities. The only way to play at 4k, need to download the video and play with another tool, that completly loss for me the reason to use the gopro cloud.

Did i miss something before i cancel my subscription ?

NOTE : Please don't explain me think like , it is more a streaming service blablabla. I know that, we are in 2023...

Welcome aboard, if you have this limitation and you can’t find a workaround then I would suggest to use other/better software.
Sorry not having more help but I don’t use the things you talking about, you can try to get a contact to GoPro support.

Hi, thanks for the reply. May i ask you which player you use then ? Do you only play it thru Quik within your cellular or a tablet ?

Let say you like to play it on your desktop computer or play your video on your 4k TV.
I use for editing Magix Pro - there is a cheaper version calling Magix Deluxe - export in 4K and watch on my 65 Panasonic also uploading to YouTube, examples you can see on my channel.

Ciao Rob
