I have my Hero 5 Black on the side of my helmet but it's too far away to record my voice with any clarity, so I'm trying to find out if a Bluetooth helmet-mounted communicator would pair with the GoPro so that I could use it to record my voice?
This would have the advantage of using the communicator for phone calls as well, although clearly you can only pair with one other device at one time.
Or is there a standalone mic I could plug directly into the GoPro?
Thanks for any help and advice.

Hero 5 and up uses a promic adapter that you will need, then any wireless device etc can be used, no standalone is on the market that wil lwork, its write protected.

Correct. the gopro Promic adapter..

then if you want to secure it a rubberband is what I do, or you can look into a Ulanzi case
