Hi
I'll be short.
Bought HERO 5 Black and camera is as it should be. But, BUT! I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 Active (SM-G870F) with android 5.0 and can't install GoPro App (Not supported).

I also can't install GoPro desktop app because they only support windows 10. And I have 8.1. I'm not going to upgrade it.

Right now my experience with GoPro is very limited!
Tried to contact the support and after clicking the "start chat" button I get another window with another exactly the same form to fill in (Infinite loop). From my experience their support Is just really really not user-friendly.

Any pre-win10 desktop apps to get somewhere?

thanks:smile:

What do yo need the app for? If you are just using the app on your computer to edit and download your files from the camera, you can use any good video editor and the file explorer from the computer.

If you want the app to update the firmware use the manual method. I had a 3 Black, have a 4 Silver, had a 5 Black, and now have a 7 Black. Never used the app on my phone or computer until just recently with the 7 to play with the protune setting to find the settings I like for various activities. (Now if I would have just written those settings down it would have helped!)

Thanks, @X5rdman.

The desktop app is not that important to me but the mobile app is kinda useful to change settings without touching the camera when shooting multi-exposure photos. I guess I have to buy a different phone now :D Or maybe I'll find some 3rd part app in PlayStore.

Yes @Boznoz
Somehow I manage to install the app on my phone. Google Play says it's not compatible but I get the apk file on this page... uptodown(dot)com (It's a site where you get the latest and older versions of android apps.) 0:)
