New user here with GoPro Hero 11 Black... is it necessary or advisable to format a new SD card with the camera's format utility?

Always try to format your memory card within the camera itself - it will minimise the risk of any compatibility and file system issues.....

I regularly format my card within the camera after I have offloaded any files from a previous shoot.

IMO: I go the Pc route once a while, and the camera route generally, I make sure I dum my vids off before I format, and I d this like every other day or so the manual says format on a bases

I understand formatting the card to delete files, but what I really wanted to know is should I format a new card before using?
