I am sure this has been ask a 100 times, but I can't find where. OK, the go pro sat for 3 days turned off, I think, went to use it today and the battery was dead, is this something that happens when it just sits ?? should I remove the battery if its just going to sit, what is the procedure when it will not be used for a week or more. inquiring minds want to know, or at least mine......:frown:

My 7Black has done that a couple of times. Not sure if it was the battery as I have 4 or 5 of them - all are GoPro batteries, not clones. I've noticed two things that I should mention. 1) my 7Black will shut itself off if left unattended for 10 minutes or so and not recording. 2) If I turn it off by holding the power button several seconds, it will turn off but if I move it just a bit after it goes off, it will come back on. I have to hold it still after powering it off for several seconds. Always take a look at the front display to make sure it is off. Just GoPro weirdness.

Auto power off can be set and changed? For the shifting that is weird.

I have posted this twice now and have lost the post both times, will try again.... I tried to make a test video with my chest strap, I turned the gopro on and started to walk around, after a few minuets I looked down and the gopro was shut off, what am I doing wrong or what is it doing that I told it to do but don't remember doing it or how to change it. You know how it is with us old people. ( 78 )

Save your files on the sd card, then on the computer format the card in full, not quick format a full format. After it finishes hte full format (64gb card 30 minutes it takes) then do a quick format, and after the quick format to the camera with the card in do the format there and again. And retry. if the camera has not been updated GoPro magical repair is to reflash newest firmware on that fixes all issues.

OK, I have learned a few things, I thought the gopro was turning off as the back screen would turn off, but the red light on the side was still flashing......It wasn't turned off just the back view. I have been going on U-Tube and learned and learned quite a bit. I still go through the battery quit fast so will half to get a few more for an all day hunt. It takes great pictures in video and photo. I want to thank all on here that helped me get started in this, Fish thank you....

Ok, batteries came in yesterday three of them and a charger, I ordered a second card but its not here yet. I found out you need to push the side button to start but only the top one to film. I also got a mount for my hunting vest and it stays on my right shoulder ( left handed ) going to be interesting if it all works. The season opens on the end of this month and I have blue grouse calling my name.........
