2 month indoor timelapse
Heelo everyone,
i am organising a 2 months - 8 hours per day time lapse and i need any help i can get! Anyone with long term time lapse experience can clarify some points would be highly appreciated...
I am planning to power my 2 hero 8 with 3m usb cables to power socket in the wall - Would i be able to record continously witout any problem for days ?(battery would be removed ofc)
I want to use the gopro cloud to save also the files - Has anyone used it? It says that it uploads automatically when u plug it in the power.In my case that it will always be plugged in when will it upload? maybe the hours that it doesnt record?
I am not sure what my interval time should be...i was thinking about 1 photo per minute
Will it be better to do it with photos to get a better quality and have more editing capability?

1 photo per minute is too much. but it depends on the lenght of the final video you are expecting.
Personaly I would go either 1 per 5min ( 4min of video) or 1 per 30min (around 40s of video?) , anything else would be excesive imho.
Also look into gopro labs firmware, there are some advanced timelapse features which i havent played with but there are some features exactly for your need.
As Fish has said, do some tests for a day to see what frequency would be the best for you.

30 frames is 1 second, how long of a actual video (@Boznoz ) (what he is getting at) who is this for? who's going to watch two months with in hours long
1 minute = 30 frames = 60 minute = 2 seconds of video X 8 hours = 16 seconds for the day X 60 = 1600 seconds
1600 about 30 minutes
As you the Director and producer will need to figure out what you are shooting and the time you are after.
my only concern is the Hero 8 camera not failing, they are like a pet rock, I can never trust it to film 100% on anything!

it s an indoor construction..you can always speed up the video that you will get from the gopro in the editing process..

Remember Lighting is Key. especially for indoors.
Goprolabs is Beta firmware load it in unless you got existing saved firmware you now be stuck with fw 1.79., or load to fw 2.50
