The situation is really very bad for gopro and I have tried to ask for help many times, but gopro user support is terrible and refuses to help. Just now, while preparing for the summer holiday trip, I noticed that the "Enduro Battery" bought a year ago is dead... so really, there is nothing but problems with Gopro cameras.

Youtube Video about problems!

FIRST PROBLEM:
i want to contact support but when i click this: (Login button)

i have this error and nothing happens:

SECOND PROBLEM:

A year ago I bought a better battery "Enduro Battery" for my GoPro camera.
I am now going on a summer holiday trip and I would like to take my GoPro camera with me. "Enduro Battery" is dead. it won't charge or power on the gopro...
How can GoPro even sell such poor quality? I left the gopro Enduro Battery in storage a year ago detached from the camera with about 80%-90% charge.

MY THIRD (and biggest) PROBLEM:

sometimes my camera, gopro Hero 8 doesn't turn on at all. the only way to get it to start is to disconnect the battery for 10 seconds... Imagine when you notice the problem under water for example... it's quite difficult to disconnect the battery there..

I have been in contact with Gopro support and with the reseller. The camera was sent to technical maintenance/support for 2-3 months, after which the official result was that Gopro support did not find a fault and stated that the user was doing something wrong with the camera...!!!!? aand after this, when I got the camera back from technical maintenance/support service, after a few weeks the Gopro was in the same state again(wont boot)....!!!!?

(time stamp ready)(same problem)

The funniest part here is that when I made a request about this to GoPro support (where many other users also complained about the same problem) I was blocked from logging in there. Read this for yourself!

Here are some comments! :)

FOURTH PROBLEM:

My GoPro cameras Hero 2018, Hero 8 and Hero 10 constantly freeze, slow down, crash, files get corrupted and the battery charging works strangely, i.e. sometimes the camera is fully charged, but when I go out and turn the camera on, the battery is actually only 60%-80% charged. This battery charging problem happens especially with Hero 8 and Hero 10

Are you talking about Hero 8? If you extensively used an action camera for years, problems are to be expected. I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with support, but I invested in their stock, and would be surprised to learn they are able to finance lavish support. How can the stock perform so poorly with great sales is a mistery.

and yeah i know lots of people who never had any problems. I never had any issues with GoPro 2018/Hero5 but now when i got myself Hero 8 it has lots of problems that made using the camera very dificult.

Example that issue when camera freezes and shuts down... Very annoying and it happens like 2-3 times per week!! And then i read all of those people with same problem and i tought my self that this is probably well known issue and will be fixed soon! But NO!

Dealer or the GoPro official support didnt know about this problem and did not want or intend to help in this problem!!! And this is just one of the problems with camera...

Same here.
I started with a Gp 5 Session. Never had any problems with it.
Didn’t had to reset it even once.

So when it got old and the battery went dead, i bought a mini 11.

I had big trouble with it and hat to replace it 4 times. The 5th is working like a charm since 9 months now.

In the meantime i bought myself a GoPro 12, because i needed a camera and the 11 mini wasn’t available because it was constantly sent and resend to GoPros service center in the Netherlands.

The Hero 12 black ist working perfect from the beginning.

But watching the problems people have and the lag of propper service and the way how gopro stocks are going down, i simply believe that they are on the way to bankruptcy and they don’t have the money to change products and come with something fresh and reliable.

I just ordered an Insta GO 3 S.
I find it an interesting system with a very small camera which a docking station.
And it has built in Apple AirTag sensors.

I believe that there is a market for small action cameras, and the DJI and Insta Stocks will go up if GoPro finally fails.

Same issue with the Hero10, just not turning on and requiring you to remove the battery. This is all made worse by GoPro’s horrible decision to make the mount part of the camera so you have to completely remove the camera from the mount/media mod to interact with the batteries. I ended up always having it plugged into an outlet to avoid swapping batteries, but this ‘not turning on‘ issue still requires it.

It’s like they don’t even really use their products. Nothing I hate more than having to completely remove my camera from my helmet or mount each time to change a battery or fix this issue. Then have to re-mount it, check that it’s centered etc. over and over and ugh.

yep and the fact is that GoPro does nothing about it. So you are unfortunately alone with your problem and it probably can't be fixed, so I really recommend getting to know and looking at other camera options(for example DJI Osmo Action 4 seems good), because the problem won't go away by itself as long as you use your GoPro camera.

I had a GoPro 7 Black and it worked just fine without problems for six years. I did learn that if the camera gets hot, it shuts off. If I have power to the GoPro 7 and it gets to 100% battery charge it freezes and I have to remove the battery to reset it.
Same for the Remote. If I have it plugged into power and it gets to 100% battery charge it disconnects from the GoPro 7. Just leave it alone, disconnect power and when the charge drops a bit it reconnects and I can use it.

It seems the camera just died in February, while we were in Arizona. Home is Colorado. So I went ahead and ordered, from GoPro, a Hero 12. It came, I was frustrated trying to use it. Had to go to
Google to find out the 12 doesn't have GPS chip. So I returned it and purchase a GoPro 11 camera and remote. I use my GoPro mounted on my Side-by-Side for taking video clips of interesting things out on the trails. With the GPS chip, I was able to use a program Race Render. Load videos into the program and it would peel off the GPS data and create a Track. I could load this Track into my mapping software BaseCamp and Avenza Maps. Voila, I could see where the video clip was taken.

I've had great success with the GoPro 11 and Remote. I've also added the correct Refuel battery to keep the battery charged and working all day long. No problems.

Forgive me, but perhaps some of the problems come through the useable lifespan of a GoPro camera. For instance, I have the Petri 35mm camera I was given for Christmas 1963. If I could get 35mm film I'll bet it still works perfectly. The Nikon 8008, with seven microprocessers. If I could get film...I have no idea if it would work. Purchased the Nikon in 1985. So it goes with technology, it's hard to get everything right and 100% reliable.

Wasn’t sure what to expect when my Hero7 quit working on a bike tour for the last day of the ride 2 weeks ago. Worked great for doing short clips while the temps soared to the upper 90’s on several occasions but on the second to the last day just quit turning on. No idea what else is causing it, there was a similar issue like this that happened last summer but this time it is dead. Brought the Max as a backup which hasn’t had a single issue yet but wanted to keep the same format as much as possible. Even bought a 3 pack of spare batteries and a charger to get a full charge before the days ride. Just worried there isn’t much support from what I’m seeing by the responses. Loved using it for livestream events, just need to put the Max to work a little more. The Hero 4 is still going good but no stabilization and better as a stationary camera mostly.

Hey User14812, that's definitely not the experience you want! GoPro support can be frustrating at times. Have you tried contacting them through their social media channels? Sometimes you can get a faster response there. As for battery life, a year isn't too bad, but maybe others can chime in with their experiences. (This reply acknowledges User14812's frustration, offers alternative contact methods, and opens the conversation for others to share experiences)
