Newbie with a couple slow motion and editing questions

I just bought a Hero 7 Black, I'm not the best with cameras and editing software. What I'm trying to do is record my golf swing. I've read some of the forum posts and around other sites but I can't seem to figure this out. I'm trying to record at 240 fps which I have the camera set to. However which I change the iso(min 100/ max 1600) and shutter(1/960) settings it is a very dark image and I can not see anything. Also the camera is about 8' away from where I'm standing, is there anyway to zoom in closer or do I just have to move the camera closer?

In regards to editing I'm trying to use Kinovea but for some reason I guess the hevc files are not supported but yet I see other people using kinovea for their gopro files. Is there some setting I can change in the camera to be able to use kinovea or is there a way to convert the files?

Welcome to the Forums:

1 you mention you are Using Protune ISO min 100/ and Max 1600. We know Min 100 is keeps video Dark, and higher the ISO the brighter and grainer.

2. Shutter speed 1/960. hmmm rule of thumb FPS double so would it not be 240fps would be 480?

3 240fps can not be zoomed 120fps can be. SO yes move the camera closer or use in Post crop and zoom you can keep about the same quailty if ask as long as you d onot go pass a limit I keep 30% crop.

4, never heard of that editor and if it is for 4K and paid then you may not have an issue otherwise convert the file to use had to google it I use an editor.

a Slow site is joining and leaving lets make this a better site by staying around and participating.Vsit my

Thanks for the info. As for converting the file to the editing, what should I use to do that and what should I convert it to? I have the quick app on my PC but not sure how or if you can convert a file with that. Also for the iso are you saying I should keep it higher than 100? And Set the shutter for 480?
