GPS is crap

Laughably out-of-sync (and just plain wrong) with video. Worthless. I though "cool... I can add speed and Gs to my track day videos !" Complete crap.

Try for a metal ground plane under the camera (antenna). Gets you more satellites, fewer dropouts, stronger signal.

And clear view of sky, esp the horizon.

Recognize that it is a receiver. So for instance mounting to the outside of a fiberglass car won't work as well as to say a metal roof. Or behind a front defrosting windshield with the metal film to block signal. Ideally bare camera not in a metal aftermarket cage.

Get the concepts? They can help a ton in making the best of things.

Best locks take place with the camera gathering GPS sats in advance, and then shooting for a good time period. As opposed to Quikcapture to video something for 10 seconds.

Fish, you don't seem to understand how GPS / GLONASS etc work.

Those are generic suggestions that work in general.

I've been using them for countless years in MotorSports.

Remember when comparing to a phone...those use 1 Hz (1 reading per second) GPS. They also triangulate off of the cell towers, and additionally off of WiFi.

Despite that, for action they stink and for MotorSports you bluetooth in a 10 HZ higher end GPS for about 20 bucks and up.
