I did a few week time-lapse running about 9 hours a day on a 10.000mAh external power bank while building a house. With a full GoPro Battery and a full power bank I just made that. This was with my HERO3+ Black taking pictures at 5 sec interval or so.

I'm currently testing the Sinomax rechargeable battery frame and so far it looks promising, doing time-lapse at 60 sec interval and has been running for over 5 hours. The internal battery of the frame is 2400mAh so with an external power bank of 10.000mAh you should at least get the 8 hours.
Last week I was testing the 1080p120 film time when I probably said time-lapse and the GoPro switched to time-lapse. It filmed for 1:38 and then took 27.684 pictures for a total time of 5:29h.

There are similar batteries even with a special water housing which should get you about 8 hours of run time in a waterproof solution, try Ali Express and I believe Wasabi had a similar solution like HERO3/4 via USB flat-cable.

I had a video drilling the case on the side and filing it to where I can get my cable in while keeping the camera protected.

https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...+drilling+case

I understand there are videos out there but it's best for you to find one and go with the best options to drill.

You want to start small then increase , I used a file to get a squared off smooth edge. I also get a el cheapo, then pay a ton incase it fails.

hope that helps out some.

All in all serame or selephaine wrap or a plastic bag can also do a job keeping water away have to use your imagination but I ratehr look professional

I'm currently testing the Sinomax Rechanrgeable Battery Frame for the HERO5 Black, I got about a 6:30h time-lapse with that combo. (https://www.goproblog.nl/reviews/sin...-frame-battery) There are also some extended batteries for the H5 which plug into the USB-C port and all together go into a dive housing (link on the page). The Sinomax battery is 2400mAh and the cells can be replaced, maybe even with bigger ones.

I would go for this one: https://nl.aliexpress.com/store/prod...73cb188dRF6YaE
Shipping to the netherlands took 10 days in my case and this one is like original, works perfect in shallow water, I would not recommend for diving but for drilling a hole in it might want to keep 40 in your back pocket.

It would be nice if they would have something like this for the H5:

You need a mix of both the below.
The Super Suit (a third party version would do fine) modified with an external cable to a power bank.

However you will need to ensure the dive housing is properly water tight after modification.
Also consider where you will place the power bank - this must be in a dry location above water.......
