I wrote Abe K (fellow Engineer) about the HB7s GPS limitations. The 5 and 6 have nearly twice the accuracy and lesser dropouts. Tested extensively with datalogging. Same GPS chip in all of them. I suspect the 7 might have an oversight such as using only one set of satellites or similar. Hopefully the 8 won't be like that. Or both the 7 and 8 if it behaves like the 7 can be firmware tweaked I am hoping. The GPS chip in the 6 is picking up both GPS and the Russian Glonass satellites. And the chip can handle up to three sets of satellites so as the EU's Galileo ramps up the cameras can handle it...hardware wise at least.
