Movie Frame Grab Resolution

I've looked around for info on this but what I'm reading is a bit depressing. Is it true that if I'm shooting 4k with the 7 Black, a frame capture from the video will only be 2mp? I was thinking closer to 5mp.

Are you saying he said 8mp from a frame grab? I missed that in the CBS online 60 Minutes thing.

Its 8mp = L x W . But you must do the frame grab via some video player. But it wont have as much info ,or be as sharp or stable as when shooting in photo mode directly.
