Am Buachaille sea stack video!

Good morning to you all

Here's a wee video from a trip last summer to climb and film the classic Am Buachaille sea stack in the Far North West of Scotland.

Am Buachaille aka The Shepherd is one of the coveted "Big 3" sea stacks in Scotland along with the Old Men of Stoer and Hoy. With it's 4 mile walk in from Blairmore followed by a tricksome descent and approach, culminating with a "character building" swim across a 15 metre channel of water exposed only at low tide, this Old Man is considered to be the most remote and serious of them all...

Anyway it was an lovely day clambering up the excellent 3* VS Landward Face route in perfect weather on possibly one of the best "adventure" routes in the UK, before collapsing on the beautiful Sandwood Bay beach. Featuring the beautiful walk-in, approach and swim, sandstone sea stack shenanigans, fearsome fulmers, eye-popping exposure plus some aerial drone footage this is the story of our day!

All constructive feedback welcome, please feel free to share to your FB friends and hopefully it will inspire a few folks to head to the beautiful region of Sutherland and climb on one of Scotland's finest! :-)

Happy climbing!

Dave

You do something for a good view...

Again a great vid love it, you take us to places we will never see in real live, thanx for that.

Climbers are a little bit crazy- walking, going down, swimming and then climbing up to got the same view as before and then-horrible- get the route completely back.
You lightened up my morning coffee!

Heya Rob many thanks as ever for taking the time to post your positive vibes as it is muchly appreciated! Rock climbing is delightfully pointless, like most hobbies in life, but something which gives my mates and I a great deal of pleasure, whilst keeping us out of mischief and we do get to visit some pretty cool places with some amazing views! I'm glad you enjoyed my wee video and I really enjoyed your Autumn Colours vid. I'll try and peruse some of your other vids when I get some spare time over a tea break at work... :-)
Cheers
Dave
