Overheat

I am having a problem with my HE3 BE. Earlier today it froze on me and i needed to remove the battery to get it working again, and then I hooked it to my windshield with the LCD backpack, and back door. Positioned and started to record. I turned the LCD off. At the end of my ride I turned the screen on and the whole camera was froze and it was quite hot. I looked at the front display and it showed that the video stopped recording after 20 min and I had a 45 min drive. I got the cam for Xmas and did the update the next day. Any help would be appreciated.

received hero 3 silver

received hero 3 silver edition for a wedding present 2 weeks ago, camera frequently freezes, can not record unless you open up the back, pull out battery and replace. out surfin thought I was recording but none of the videos were there when I plugged HD3 into computer. I was rather aggravated to say the least.
the battery is very hot when this happens, I had a HD2 and nothing like this ever happened. very disappointed and would like an explanation.
It withstands 10 minutes of video then over heats and freezes, can't really remove camera from water proof housing, take out the battery to hope it will unfreeze when i'm in the water.

My H3Black would freeze. I could reboot the camera and then use it again.

I'm wondering about:
SD card fault
SD card getting hot? (I read on Amazon that bad cards will overheat).

I haven't tested these theories yet.
