Gopro handheld sound question+filters

Hey guys, I recently got a gopro as a gift from my gf and started using it for trips. I got a suction cup mount and used one of the long arm extensions as a handheld. The video came out pretty good but i noticed whenever I moved my hand the gopro picked up the sound. I used the water proof housing since I was dipping the gopro underwater. The sound, sounds like a muffled rubbing sound. I was wondering if this is because im using a cheapy non dedicated hanheld. Which handhelds are good? I heard some good things about the grenade. Is a monopod a better idea?

Also i was wondering about filters. Are they a good investment? I'm thinking about getting some sort of UV filter. Last thing, are there any good stores in the Toronto area that i can pick these toys up at? Don't want to wait a week for them to get in. Thanks for the help guys.

Sound:

will be excellent if you isolate, add wind noise muff's etc. the arm you are using, maybe a picture for some to see so they can comment

I use something simple and no noise for me, take note a naked case, ear muffs, and a egg timer, clip tripod.
no clicking noise or wind in sound.

Its more of a rubbing sound. Its from when my fingers move or the hand held mount moves around in my hand. the gopro is able to pick up the sound and it sounds like a rubbing sound. The gopro is in its water proof housing.

So what im using for the handheld is the extension arm that connects to the gopro and the suction cup. The arm is straight and big enough to fit in my hands. I was just wondering if this is a problem even with legit hand helds like the grenade. I'm probably not using the best video techniques but when im re gripping the handheld it makes the noise. Almost any movement from my hand transfers to the go pro and sounds like im rubbing the housing or something. I also have the white dampener thing on too

If all is solid and that is the sound you get from your product, try some soft tissue. It may now be the interior weak design of the gph3 casing. something the 3+ or soon for will have cushions by mic.

soft tissue as in tissue paper?? I wonder if wrapping a pop filter around the mic area would work.
