Hero 4 - video segements not visible on disk

GoPro Hero 4 black
I dont even know what firmware is!
use a hp laptop to download the video.

I have been reading around and think my problem might be to do with formatting the scandisk - which I haven't done ..
The problem is that on the 64GB scan disk I am missing some segments every day. I have the thing on for about 45 minutes to record my commute and there are usually 4/5 segements of about 12 minutes. But for the past few days the time sequnces on the files show that the SECOND segement of each journey is not visible on the disk. Nothing / nada / no recording it seems .. but would it really go on and off during a session? This makes me think it is an issue with the disk.

Does this problem sound like it could be a result of not formatting?

Thanks

I had a similar problem today while trying to film some whales playing although I wasn't using a sandisk card I was using a lexar 64gb which is on there compatible list and all the shots before the whales worked fine then as I tried to film the whales I kept getting the sd error message, so anything I filmed after the sunrise didn't work. The card has been formatted and used several times with no problem at all in the week I've owned it

It is pretty frustrating.

I dont even WANT to video my commute, but I have been lied about to the police. So I am trying to keep a record of every journey in case the nutter who is persecuting me makes up any more stuff .. but ironically the video is not recording at the exact time when I go past the place where she first ran me off the road, and thus the time and place where she is most likely to do any more lying she has in mind. Just like you missing the whale action - I have lots of video of my front wheel on empty roads .. and no way of knowing the camera is not recording, since it is on my helmet ...

It is depressing to hear you re-formatted your disk and it still didn't stop the problem.

If you don't want the whole journey and only a section if something happens, research looping video
