Question How Do I Recover ALL Files on my MicroSD?

I went to Lake Tahoe and took many photos and a few videos using my HERO 3 Black with a recently purchased SanDisk 64GB microSD. The disk has about 40GB of the 64GB capacity used but the GOPRO folders are empty. I'm using Windows 10 and have since realized that my microSD is counterfeit, as it's labelled 64GB microSDHC which doesn't exist.

My question arises after I've used several data recovery programs I'm able to obtain over 3000 pictures of a timelapse that I really didn't care too much about. The important files were taken about a week after the timelapse and I can't seem to recover those. Does anyone have any tips for me on how to recover the additional files? I've used "Whole Scan - Damaged Partition Recovery" settings from a couple different programs.

if you have a 62gb card and you shot 40gb? You can only recover 43gb to 62gb everything you shot from 0gb to 42gb you writen over with whatever you shot? How I look at it. For me I shot 7 days of footage, and had placed on a passport drive 500gb. I was lucky to recover at least 50% of my video, lost alot at the start, due to exactly what I just said above.

I used a free program. did a good job. Recuva (charlie will correct me on it. recovery works quite well hesaid/

Good luck hope you can recover some lost footage

Go to the forums tab, then to the "Documented Tutorias"l section. Fish has a tutorial there that should help you.

the last one was a mp4 repair, not recover lost footage.

I'll be more clear; I shot a timelapse and used about 15gb then a week later shot a lot of photos/timelapses/a couple videos using about 25gb... 40gb total. I then tried to import all files but none were readable. Nothing shows up in GoPro Studio, GoPro App, and folder appears empty when I open the DISC -> GOPRO folder on the sd card. I used several free programs and am able to recover the first timelapse of about 15gb but nothing else is found. I feel there's a chance that I may still be able to find the remaining 25gb of footage I want.

The documented tutorial is for a discoverable corrupted mp4 file, while my folder just shows no files.

If I reformat the card, would I have a better chance of finding all the files which were erased?

take gopro studio out of the picture. if you shot 10 files , in a card reader do you see those 10 files?

No, I shot 5000+ photos and 3 videos, I see 0 files when I open DCIM; it only says "This folder is empty."

It is all up to the Recovery now, if you re-used the card chances anything of the start is GONE

I've tried reformatting the card to FAT32 and ran the Damaged Partition scan but still come up with only the first timelapse of about 15gb, not the data I so desperately want recorded after that.
