Intro

Hi all, I'm Adam from the UK. I've recently brought my first Go Pro - Hero5 session. Main reason of buying it is because I'm going to the Maldives in a weeks time for my honeymoon So will be using it mostly for snorkelling. Having a few issues connecting it to my iPad and installing the latest software. But will have a search on the forum before asking any questions. Cheers

Welcome aboard.

turn wifi on turn bluetooth on, and then go into the app Dl capture, register, sign in , and add new device simply follow the screens , you should by now have turned on the back button fo the session and pressed it five times, add new device, write down the passw. and headed back into the phone to settings and wi-fi adding in password, then heading to capture and opening up session that you added and it should simply pair and open up to start shooting, really that simple.

Thanks Fish.

Though I've tried all this but the Go Pro won't show up in my wifi list on my iPad.

When I first brought it I tried it and I managed to link it ok, but didn't have time to play around with it again over the busy Christmas period so yesterday was only the second time I've tried to connect to the Capture. It showed up to start with, but wouldn't connect and now won't show. It showed up again to start with this morning, but same thing happened - it wouldn't connect and now will not show.

I've just updated the software manually, although that was a chore. The serial number 'wasn't valid' on the PC but when I tried on iPad (safari) it worked ok, so just had to get the update file to my PC, which I eventually did! :S But still won't show up on ipad wifi with the latest software installed. Any more tips? Or is it an issue with the actual Go Pro? Thanks.

Just seen you mention about a factory reset on another post. Just done that but still not showing up on iPad.

Also, have noticed that the red and/or blue LED lights aren't flashing, which I thought they were when I first connected to the app...?

you did a factory reset, and also updated, I return your camera to the company for an exchange if your camera return is to expire that is your only option. waiting to long to get things working is not what we do with gopro. Sorry but that is how things work today .

tthey will get you a new camera if it is faulty do not email chat, and tell them very short to the point and you did everything possible and they'll get you an rma out , you pay shipping they ship for free. if you had carepkg its a heck lot easier.

Store has stock, so it is not hard for them to pull a new one off the shelf, open up, place the bat, your sdxc card in and set up, whateverhappened to these old days of doing that, we rush out, to the car while driving and rip open the pkg to start using... Lol
