how to check the firmware version

Hi people,
I've been having problems with time lapse mode and have just tried updating the firmware to the latest v1.02 but would like to verify it (it almost instantaneously went from UP to off). Is there any way of checking it? I've been searching here using both google and the site tool but am having a bit of trouble finding the solution specific to the Hero 1080 HD original. All help is welcome!

On a side note, the time-lapse issue is recurrent, ie after an x amount of 2sec lapse foto's the camera crashes. The counter says 999 but there are generally about 1200 foto's and almost twice as many thumbnails (a lot of which are corrupt but the foto's themselves are thankfully fine). It will also crash before the battery runs out and the only way to get it responsive again is te take the battery out. After a few seconds it crashes again. Any help with this issue is also welcome.

Cheers,
Rick

oh wow, you're telling me there are more than one model of the 'finding the solution specific to the Hero 1080 HD original'? Or do you need some kind of serial number? But it has no wifi anyway, so if I follow you correctly there is probably no way of verifying the version.

But let's assume I got it right and it updated properly. Sadly the newer firmware didn't solve the problem.
You mention reformatting which is a logical suggestion and I have indeed tried reformatting the card, many times actually, in fact after every time I recovered my foto's off the card.

About the card itself, like I said, it manages to capture about 1200 foto's on a 2 sec lapse, which makes for 2400 seconds, which makes it 40 minutes of working properly. To me that sounds like the card is a good working fast card. 1200 foto's at 1080p comes to about 5GB which is a 3rd of the working capacity of my 16GB card. One might think there is a glitch in the 5GB area or something, but the indice itself on the card is pretty much corrupted.
This makes me suspect the card itself even less. To me it sounds like the cam is bugging out somehow.

So then the next thing you mention is buffering. I would certainly go along with that. Also like I said, it's mostly the thumbnails and not the foto's which are corrupt and creating thumbnails is an extra processing task which would most definitely require buffering. But what to do about that???

did I not say I had spent time looking for an answer? With all respect, you are the moderator here because you cannot read or you do not believe what people write? Good luck with your forum, I'm done here.
