Cannot import audio files

So as in the title I'm having trouble with importing the music file into gopro studio, the file i chose never appeared on the left. However I can still import the sample musics that are already in my computer as well as the voice memos from my phone. It's just that i cannot import any music files that are downloaded online.
My Quicktime app is up-to-date, I also tried run it as administrator but it still doesn't work at all. I've been looking everywhere for a solution and still no chance. Any help is much appreciated

What format is your audio in? GPS will only import the following: MP3, WAV, AIFF, M4A and CAF

Did you try dragging the music to the timeline? or did you try to import it?

Cheers,
Charlie

I tried both mp3 and m4a files, and I also tried to drag as well as import but none of them seem to work. I have no idea what's wrong.

How old is your copy of quick time? You might update it. Also, if it is the current version delete all instances of it and reinstall and try again.

Charlie

@botman99

tell us in steps exactly how you are doing this, and is this your first time using it.??

1 I open GPS
2 I go to STEP 2 in gps the Edit, 2nd one.
3. I choose MEDIA, MP3 pops in on my left
4 I start to drag and let go on timeline, it pops on the Audio line

Are you doing this in Step one and nothing happening Per post one you never say anything of how you are doing this, Am I correct @Dr. Z

No one here is making fun, we are trying to understand something that may have been simply overlooked,

@Dr. Z
Yes I checked it several times to make sure it's up-to-date, and I also delete everything of it and reinstall like you said but still the same problem
@fishycomics
Well if you say so, here's how I do it:
1. open GPS
2. proceed step 1, choose the videos that I need, cut desired parts from the chosen videos and all the parts appear on the right. Then choose CONVERT ALL.
3. go to step 2, put the parts in order in the timeline, then proceed to click the ADD MEDIA button, mp3 files appear from my folder, I choose 1, open it and nothing appears on the left, either that or I drag it directly from the folder, both do not work.

It's not my first time using the app but it's my first time importing audio into it
The problem is that none of my downloaded music files can be imported, but it works fine with the sample musics in the system's library

go to youtube grab one. and see if it works. You just said a sample one works. so that means the file you are trying to load may not be compatible, and you will need a 3rd party editor that does thing so smoothly.

Yeah I tried getting the audio from youtube once but no luck. I even went to get the audio files that have similar figures with the sample ones (mp3 type, bit rate, etc.) but only the sample files work.

Can you share one of the audio files through dropbox?
