Thoughts on Re-furbished Laptop Options?

Greetings!

I have just purchased 2 Hero 5 Blacks and have worked out that my ancient laptop is not up to editing and rendering go pro video.

I understand that desktops are much better than laptops however due to circumstances a small form laptop preferably less than 13" is ideal. As my budget is low I have decided to purchase an older refurbished laptop.

Will be shooting at 1080p. Not sure of editing software but I guess will start with GoPro Studio.

My research tells me I need an I5/I7, an SSD and absolute minimum 8GB Ram.

I initally thought I would buy this - Levono ThinkPad T430 i5-3320M 2.60ghz/8GB/180GB SSD/Win 7 Pro/14"

I then discovered I could stretch to an i7 and am now leaning toward a Lenovo ThinkPad X230 i7 3520M 2.9Ghz/16GB/180GB SSD/Win 7 Pro/12.5" - it seems well spec'd and is small and light.

This laptop is at the top of my budget, but I am now reading that a Quad Core i7 is necessary...

It looks like a 2nd generation Quad Core may be affordable - HP Elitebook 8460p Quad Core I7 3.3Ghz/8GB/240GB SSD/Win 7 Pro/14" - however it is an even older machine and from what I read the Thinkpad is a better laptop. And it is larger at 14". For me smaller is a better option if I can swing it.

I know that any setup within my budget won't be ideal, however will the X230 i7 3520M 2.9Ghz (Core2Duo) be the best bet? Or should I go for any Quad Core within the budget?

I appreciate any comments!!

Quad core is ideal for video editing I would rather go with the i7. Go for the quad core.
