Complaint- GoPro makes it harder to use

I'm pretty much done with GoPro and am looking at other brands for my next purchase. The last several updates have made it more and more cumbersome to download videos using Finder on my mac and now it appears after the last firmware upgrade this is totally disabled. I do not want to install gopro software merely to offload video files, that's a total waste of my disk space no matter what size the app is. I use other software for post-pro and have no interest in this almost useless (IMO) app.

In terms of software and computer usage nothing annoys me more than companies trying to get me to use only their software. This makes it highly likely that I'm going to tell you to piss off as I'll be doing with my next camera. GoPro was the only name in the game a few years ago but there are a lot of other options now. So you guys just keep making things less useful and more cumbersome.

I bought your **** camera, isn't that enough? Now you've got to try and tell me how to use it? Not acceptable. I want to plug the thing is and drag files to the proper directory, if you want to micro-manage my use that much I have no interest in continuing to be a GoPro user. In fact, this has accelerated my search for a new camera and my GoPro will soon be craigslist-bound.

See ya.

Understanding your frustration, anger and all with Gopro. Why do you think you would need to use Gopro's Software to Dl video? Maybe some members who have been with success can offer some info how they go about it?

Rant-rave, whatever it is. You spent a lot of hard earned cash and want to be happy, that we all understand. I simply find what works for me.

Fish. I only use Gopro studio to help out and don't need Gopro studio, Gopro App to get my files to my system

I just pop the card out, put it in a card reader, and do what I want with files.
What's hard about that - just like any other camera.
GoPro studio is OK especially considering it's free.

It's to hard for him I guess/ the camera like "any "device on the market is going to need a driver loaded or software to run on a machine, not gopro studio or desktop pp, a simple software that sees the device, nothing more, so when it gets loaded it Opens as a driver..

I plug mine in it opens as a driver a reader a card reader, I pick and choose what I want, And off I go.

More or less the person bought the camera, had all the chances in the World to return it within its return period, and he chose to stick with it days later, months later, and refuses to learn, find a solution, resolve it, And Blames Gopro.com. We all find something we do not like about the camera we all do, but always be a few that are not satisfied, that we have no control over

We here at GoProforums are no way affiliated with Gopro.com, but Nick woodman did stop by at the very start to talk with the forums, as well their worker that join and left, what most people do Join & leave never sticking around, they learn something if they do, Lol

I agree with you, but I have never pugged my camera in, I use an SD card reader.

SD card to the computer is the best way. Hey, if you feel that way then move on. Videography isn't just about ease it is about finesse and willingness to learn new things and new techniques.

Cheers,
Charlie
