Default Firmware won't read SD card

My lcd bacpac went black. I tried installing the firmware update that supposedly will remedy the issue. HOWEVER, at the tail end of the download I get a message "INSTALL SD CARD OR SD CARD DOES NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT MEMORY". I've used two different empty 16G cards, different brands, so that's not really the issue. I've used 6 different USB ports on two different computers. I've tried turning computers on and off and on, same with camera. a dozen times. WHY isn't the firmware reading my SD CARD?

Default I'm having this same exact

I'm having this same exact problem. I got the Wifi+Remote today which had a note about updating the firmware first. I've tried two different computers, different usb ports, different cards and nothing works. I opened a support ticket with Gopro but haven't heard back from them yet. Would be nice to be able to use the accessories that I just bought.

Default I'm not sure what I did after

I'm not sure what I did after I posted this but I got it to work. I think I turned on the camera before I plugged it into the computer (thought I tried that before also) and then the update actually went through.

The rest is for anyone else having the issue I had.

Then I updated the Wifi Bacpac. That went through fine. Then I got stuck where the remote wouldn't connect to the Bacpac. All it would show on the lcd screen was the battery icon, no wifi icon. I plugged the bacpac into my camera and notice the wifi icon started up so I took it off and plugged it back into the computer. Then the remote was able to connect and performed the update on the remote which went fine. Now everything is working great.

Default Same here, just got the HD

Same here, just got the HD HERO2 today, and tried to download & run the cineform software that promptly said I needed a firmware update.
Camera has a 16Gb SDHC class 10 card in it, that successfully was used to make some videos and stills.
I am using Windows 7 64bit professional.

Doesn't seem to matter what USB port I plug in into, tried them all, or the sequence of power on before or after connecting to USB.
Result is the same, cineform downloads the firmware update then fails when it goes to send it to the camera.
With that message that you need to put a SD card in the camera or it has not enough space.

Wild guess but I'm betting the current version of cineform is not altogether healthy.

Default Unexpected today the update

Unexpected today the update worked on the first try, while trying to upload a morning bike ride video.
Maybe the PC just needed to reboot first before trying the update.
