cannot delete microSD files

Hi, apologies for posting this question again but sadly previous attempts have resulted in no answer, hopefully someone will be able to provide a solution.

When I connect my Hero3+ via USB to my PC I can't delete the contents of the microSd card as it says it's write protected. Yet the card itself is NOT write protected as I can put it in my Hero3 and delete the contents via the PC.

I can also insert the SD card directly into the PC and can delete the contents, it is ONLY when inserted into the Hero3+ does it magically become write protected.

Hoping someone can please give a solution as to why this is so, thank you.

I can't give you a solution because mine acts the same way. I don't remember a write-protections warning but the files will not delete by way of camera and usb. I, like you, just slip the microSD into the computer and edit or delete as needed.

It happened when I had my H3B+ and never tried it since I'm with my 4.

Is there any reason you need to delete the files via your pc on the camera ?

Why don't just use format on the camera once you've transferred the files on your computer?

This was introduced with a firmware update several months ago if I remember correctly.
When the camera is connected to a computer via USB it is in Read-Only mode - you will not be able to write to the card or delete files from the card. Hence once data has been transferred you will need to format theocrat via the camera.
Of course, you could just use a USB card reader instead
