Question Is Feiyu G5 compatible with Hero 4 waterproof case?

Hey so will this 3 axis waterproof G5 gimbal from Feiyu be compatible with the Hero 4 WITH waterproof case?

I'm assuming yes since there's no point in getting a splashproof gimbal if the Gopro camara won't be protected against splashes.

But the G5 holding system specifications in the G5 manual say maximum hight is 44.7 mm and the Hero 4 waterproof case is more than that.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Rober

No. The Feiyu-Tech G5 is a gimbal designed for the GoPro Hero 5 Black, which is waterproof in its default form. The Hero 4 in its waterproof housing will not fit in the G5 bracket.

You would need the Feiyu-Tech G4 or the G4S for the Hero 4 camera, although neither the gimbal or camera will be water resistant.

The only gimbal I know of thats splash proof and compatible with the Hero 4 would be the Removu S1.

There is no point in it being splash proof if it completely destroys the camera that is connected to it.

The G5 may have been the first splashproof gimbal, but to use a non-waterproof camera with it defeats the purpose of it being splash proof in the first instance.

The Removu S1 allows the Hero4 to be used within its waterproof housing - so is the first truly water resistant entire setup.

The Hero 5 then came along, making the G5 a more viable splash proof solution, and the S1 only needed a new frame mount for it.

Even so, as it stands the G5 is NOT a splash proof solution when used with the Hero 4 - only the Removu S1 is.

Feiyu-Tech do have a new version of the G5 coming very soon (early Feb I believe). We will see what changes it brings.....
